Enterprise mobility offers many benefits, such as increased efficiency and security, reduced costs, and the ability to gain a competitive advantage. However, two additional benefits that are not discussed as often are the improvements on work culture as well as employee collaboration and innovation.

These benefits of enterprise mobility are highlighted in the article, “How Enterprise Mobility Management Helps In Transforming Work Culture,” by Nandini Jakhetia. In the article, Jakhetia explains how enterprise mobility has not only improved external business operations but also allowed for internal operations to become more efficient.

Productivity

By the end of 2015, experts say that 50% of devices used throughout corporations will be mobile devices. With so many mobile devices being used in the office today, the way an employee works has become customizable.

Enterprise mobility gives employees the ability to work from anywhere. It also dramatically speeds up transactions and the completion of projects. This speed, as well as the ability to quickly deliver results for customers, is what gives many companies a competitive advantage.

Productivity + Collaboration

In addition to increased access to information, enterprise mobility connects employees regardless of their location, improving overall communication and transparency. As Jakhetia points out, employees “seek to learn from mistakes, not to assign blame.” Any employee can be contacted at any time via a mobile device, making it easier for employees to work together and deliver quality work product.

Productivity + Collaboration = Innovation

Innovation is a direct result of increased productivity and improved collaboration. Enterprise mobility allows opinions, ideas, advice and expertise to flow freely throughout the company. No longer do meetings or discussions have to wait until the next day. Being constantly connected means employees can instantly and securely share their innovative ideas and receive instant feedback.

When computers entered the workplace, enterprises experienced what they thought would be the greatest shift they may ever see. However, many agree that enterprise mobility is the new revolution. It has completely transformed the dynamics of the workplace and even challenged the traditional definition of “the office.”
