We are happy to announce that Mediafly is now an official Amazon AWS Solutions Provider.
Prior to adopting AWS services, Mediafly managed co-located servers in Chicago. These proved to be expensive and prone to hardware failures. The team spent much of its day on basic operational tasks, which limited its ability to continue to build and refine the service offering. Furthermore, access times to critical files suffered due to geographic latency for east-coast, west-coast and international customers.
In 2007, Mediafly began to migrate to AWS. After conducting successful early trials, the company has over time moved its entire core infrastructure to AWS. Mediafly heavily utilizes EC2, S3 and Cloudfront for all elements of content ingestion, transcoding, content management, distribution management, and Live Event support.
We look forward to moving forward with the AWS Platform and Amazon Web Services.
