A seller finishes a discovery call and opens Claude. They paste in the transcript, pull some numbers from the ROI model, and ask it to produce a business case. Ten minutes later they have a polished document. They send it.
It’s fast. It’s cheap. The executive watching this thinks: Do we still need the platform?
It’s a good question. But it’s not the right one. The real question is: fast at what?
Why yes/no thinking has no place as tech evolves
I’ve spent twenty years watching interface shifts, and the pattern is always the same. A new surface arrives that makes something feel easier, faster, more intuitive. And the first instinct — from executives, from product teams, from investors — is to ask which surface wins. The old one or the new one?
But the choice shouldn’t be ‘this or that’. That wasn’t the right approach in 2007 when the iPhone arrived, and it isn’t now. The teams that got mobile right asked the harder questions: Who is this buyer? What do they need at this moment? How can we bring all the pieces together to deliver for our customers? These are the conversations that should be happening in leadership meetings right now – before teams start making drastic decisions that threaten to uncouple the process from the strategy behind it.
What do we lose in that ten-minute business case?
Let’s go back to the seller with Claude. The document looks good. The deal moves forward. But what have we lost in those 10-minutes?
The numbers are now floating free. The moment those figures left Mediafly’s model and landed in a paste buffer, they disconnected from the methodology that produced them. If the model gets updated, the sent document doesn’t know. If the assumptions were wrong, there’s no way to trace it. The output is a snapshot with no memory of where it came from.
The output has no home. That business case lives in an email thread. If the seller was sophisticated enough to build a custom Claude skill, it might land in the right template with the right colors. If they weren’t, it won’t. Either way, it exists outside any system — ungoverned, untracked, unreachable.
The intelligence is gone. This is the one that compounds quietly. That business case was never written back into Mediafly. No document tracking. No engagement signal. No way to know whether the prospect opened it, spent an hour with it, or ignored it entirely. And every deal where this happens is a deal where the intelligence that should be feeding your Value platform never arrives. Over time, your Value data gets thinner, your recommendations get less precise and your win rates flatten.
Your seller didn’t do anything wrong. They worked on the surface that felt most productive to them at that moment. The system just wasn’t designed to meet them there.
This is why we’re making Mediafly available via MCP
Your sellers should be able to work with their preferred agent or LLM interface. But the financial models, the methodology, and the intelligence shouldn’t have to leave Mediafly. MCP is how we close that gap — making everything Mediafly knows about value selling available on whatever surface your sellers are already working on, without breaking the system behind it.
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard, created by Anthropic, that lets AI tools like Claude connect directly to outside systems and data – rather than requiring custom integrations, or information to be copied and pasted between them. We provide the toolbox and the tools, and your LLM helps you build.
We’re doing it in two stages, because the problem has two sides.
Mediafly Command MCP for sellers comes first, in beta in Q3. This is the seller-first layer, which enables the AI tools your sellers already work in — Claude, Gemini, or whatever comes next — to call on Mediafly’s Value tools directly. Instead of copy-pasting numbers into the model, your knowledge base / CRM, benchmark data, and approved methodology are all pulled live into the deal workflow, connected to the system that produced them.
Furthermore, when the seller fills out a business case, it doesn’t vanish into an email thread. Their copy gets written back into Mediafly’s library automatically — tracked, live, using the approved business case template. When you share it from Mediafly, the engagement data flows: who opened it, how long they spent with it, what they looked at. This signal feeds back into your Value platform, sharpening every recommendation that follows.
The input problem is solved. The seller stays on the surface they want. The numbers stay connected to the governed source.
Mediafly Command MCP for authors comes next. This is the business model authoring layer. When your selling motions need a new financial model, e.g. for different stages, or using different methodologies (ROI, TCO, BVA, etc.), authors can work directly with their preferred agent to build the model, test the calculation logic, and connect it to a brand-aligned presentation template, all in one place.
The seller works where they’re most productive. The business case authors stay in control of what assumptions, calculations, and logic make sense for the enterprise. The intelligence stays, unbroken, within the loop. And even when resources leave the company, their work stays connected to Mediafly.
What executives should really be asking about AI
If your executives are watching sellers use AI and wondering whether the platform is still necessary, encourage them to ask the bigger questions. How can AI be pulled into every layer of your process? What does AI bring to the platform, and what would be missing if you were only working at that surface level?
Mediafly provides the framework to ensure that your seller working in Claude is still using the right methodology. That the assumptions they pull on a Tuesday reflect what your CFO approved last quarter. That the output lands in the right template, gets written back into a governed library, and generates engagement tracking the moment it’s shared. That everything feeds back into the platform so that the next business case is smarter than the last one.
This is the infrastructure of governed value selling, built from years of understanding what sellers need, on what surface, at which moment – and all that needs to be connected underneath for any of it to work. For your sellers, it’s seamless. For your customers, it’s a consistent, value-led experience that delivers precisely what they need. For us at Mediafly, it’s the same discipline applied to a new surface. Because we know exactly what needs to be connected.
