Mediafly Acquires iPresent to Provide
Sales Enablement
For All

By Carson Conant | September 5, 2019

Today, Mediafly has acquired sales enablement pioneer, iPresent. Headquartered in Europe, iPresent provides a proven suite of sales enablement tools empowering salespeople to deliver more engaging sales presentations, increase productivity, and close more deals. They work with many well-known companies, including 3M, Evian, and AXA, who value them for their beautiful UI, outstanding customer support, and quick-start user experience.

Today (a very BIG day), culminates Mediafly’s two-year mission to make sales enablement easier to engage, faster to adopt, less risky, and more impactful for all sales teams in every company.

But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me start at the beginning…

Sales Enablement: Then and Now

In 2009, we set out to develop a secure, customizable, and device-agnostic sales enablement platform that sales reps would actually enjoy using. The vision was to help salespeople sell better by engaging buyers with relevant, dynamic, and personalized presentations.

Always looking to improve, we spent the next decade expanding our solution to further enhance buyer-seller interactions in any way we could. We integrated Mediafly with all of the major CRM systems and added AI capabilities to power smarter sales conversations and tie content usage back to revenue. We incorporated sales readiness software into our solution to help businesses pivot away from traditional, ineffective sales training and coaching and ensure sales reps can lead more prescriptive sales conversations that address buyer challenges in real-time. And we helped companies solve Board-level sales transformation objectives with custom interactive sales modules built on Mediafly.

As a result, we saw our vision come to life as companies from PepsiCo to MillerCoors to NBCUniversal and Goldman Sachs used Mediafly to truly transform the way they sell. But in all of our glory, we noticed something we couldn’t shake. Only the most progressive companies with ambition, vision, and commitment to moving beyond the status quo were fully leveraging the promise of sales transformation.

In reality, from small business to large enterprise, most companies are still struggling to get started with sales enablement. They’re experiencing the same pains as the PepsiCos and Goldman Sachs of the world, but deploying sales enablement technology at much lower rates. They recognize their buyers have changed, expectations are mounting, and they need to sell differently to address that, but too often, we see these companies stall their decision to purchase sales enablement technology – or worse, make no decision at all. Why?

Business technology investments can be intimidating. For many, a sales enablement deployment feels like an expensive, enterprise decision with a lot of complexity and risks. But it doesn’t have to, and we’re here to prove it.

Since our realization two years ago, we’ve remained focused on bringing high-end interactive selling capabilities and animated selling experiences to all companies, regardless of size or maturity, with an easy and risk-free buying process. Simply put, we’re providing sales enablement for all.

Sales Enablement For All (seriously)

I’m sure that seems like a pretty lofty claim, but it’s true. Two years ago, we started quietly building and acquiring the breakthrough solutions required to re-invent how companies buy, deploy, and leverage sales enablement technology.

We first acquired Alinean Inc., the leading provider of value selling tools, to make ROI calculators, TCO comparisons, and benchmark assessments more accessible to all companies looking to accelerate deal cycles and drive more revenue. This acquisition also allowed us to introduce advisory services and workshops that help our clients optimize their sales content and tools in ways that better address what their buyers care most about.

On the heels of this success, we set our sights on phase two: making it easy and risk-free to get started with sales enablement. And we’re happy to announce we’ve done it! Mediafly’s acquisition of iPresent is centered on delivering the most animated and beautiful sales applications for all companies and making it as easy as possible to buy and get started.

Picture this. (I’ll bet it sounds familiar.)

You’ve just launched a new product. You’ve hired your 10-person salesforce, onboarded everyone in a classroom, and sent them out into the field to start selling. But you hit a snag. Sales fall flat and you’re left to wonder. Why are your reps spending so much time finding and personalizing content and so little time actually selling? Why can’t your marketers pinpoint what content actually works? Why are your reps forgetting the most important information you shared when you onboarded them? Why don’t your sales presentations resonate with buyers and compel them to purchase? And, most importantly, where do you go from here?

A sophisticated sales enablement solution can help you solve each of these challenges, but after spending the time and resources to build a business case, your stakeholders come back with a hard and fast “no” – too much work, too complex, too expensive, too risky. Would anyone even use it? They’ve been burned by that before (cough, CRM, cough). They suggest you use something free as a band-aid. You’re a Microsoft shop, so why not SharePoint? But you need more than a basic content management system to achieve your desired business outcomes.

If only there were an easier, more affordable way to get started. A risk-free way to implement the tools you need to close more deals and use the impressive return on investment to convince stakeholders to prioritize sales enablement as the business continues to grow.

Oh wait, now there is.

Mediafly + iPresent: Powering Easy, Effective, and Evolved Sales Enablement

We’ve made this acquisition happen because we’ve seen this scenario play out over and over again. While every company today should be diving headfirst into sales enablement, too many find themselves sidelined…until now.

We’re combining iPresent’s animated user interface and self-service model with Mediafly’s sophisticated sales tools into one contiguous system to provide sales enablement for all and help sales teams of any size, anywhere in the world, improve buyer engagement, drive competitive differentiation, and increase revenue.
