BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) is a global leader of products and instruments used for diagnosing infectious diseases. BD Diagnostics worked with Mediafly to enable BD's sales force to fully embrace the power of the iPad as a sales enablement tool. With Mediafly, BD's sales reps can beautifully and securely present to physicians and clinical staff at the point of message.


What BD Needed

Physicians and clinical staff are hard to reach.  For BD Diagnostic's sales teams, delivering their message in the most engaging way possible is critical to success. Lugging out a laptop to show a video is not effective, and carrying around an armful of documents is expensive and wasteful.

Further complicating matters is that maintaining compliance with FDA regulations is expensive and challenging.  As regulations change and the FDA provides guidance on product marketing and sales, material must be updated quickly.

BD was looking for an innovative way to communicate product benefits and marketing messages, show videos, consult pricing sheets, email documents to customers, and increase compliance, all at the point of contact.  

What Mediafly Provided

After making the decision to purchase iPads for its North American sales staff, BD Diagnostics engaged with Mediafly to provide the BD Diagnostics iPad app and consulting services.  The app serves as the central integration point for

  • Compliance and FDA-related material
  • Video, PDF, images, and HTML documents
BD's marketing and sales teams maintain full control of the content, and work with Mediafly's team to organize and enhance that content.
The value continues beyond there. Key BD staff members receive full analytics and reports, enabling them to better understand which sales reps are engaging with which content. This allows product managers, marketers and sales leaders to provide appropriate content for the appropriate scenario, hone the product and corporate message, and push salesperson performance higher.
