I seem to send you one of these every year, here's the lunatic
backstory for this year's entry:

Imagine an alternative history if you will. A world where the Ramones
were not formed on the mean streets of New York in 1974, but on the
rather duller, greyer streets of Sheffield in 1978. Their earliest
memories are of hiding behind the sofa, terrified of the Daleks and
Cybermen, and traumatized by the electronic wail of the Doctor Who
theme. School days were filled with the sounds of the Glitter Band,
Sweet and Slade, and after finally deciding to form a band they
choose to draw musical inspiration not from the Beach Boys, Beatles,
Bay City Rollers and 1910 Fruitgum Company but instead from the hot
new electronic sounds of The Normal, Cabaret Voltaire and The Human
League. Thus they find themselves signed not to Sire records, but to
Fast, and as stablemates of the Human League, they need to make a big
impact with their debut single. And in just 45 seconds of pure
inspiration, 'drummer' Tommy Electramone writes the anthemic
'Blitzkrieg Bop'.

Well, a lunatic backstory justifies a mashup of the greatest punk
rock song of all time with the two greatest electronic tracks of all
time (Warm Leatherette and Delia's masterpiece). Enjoy!

p.s. truncated to 90 seconds so I can post a 'performance' video to
Flickr.

Yes, I went with a funny remix name. -_-' I didn't spend nearly as much time
on this as with The 90s (which should also have been included in the update,
if not, then sorry.) and Howell DXi, but I'm still very fond of it.
Basically, it's a remake of the 1963 Derbyshire theme, with some nods toward Howell's
theme. It was made mostly on GMedia's Minimonsta, which is a VST Mini Moog.
The only 2 things I've ripped from any Who theme are (obviously) the scream
and sting effects. I was going to make this part of my own rendition of Gold's
version, but i just ended up with an "3pic ph4i1". :P But who knows? Maybe
one day I'll do something that's actually original and sounds good. Enjoy.

What if? What if Doctor Who didn't end in 1989 and went into the 90s? Well
actually that wasn't my original idea... This actually just came out of boredom
when I realized GForce's Minimonsta was so good at doing the melody to the
Doctor Who theme tune. :P I just quickly came up with the name in like, 5
seconds, because the name I had picked out had already sort of been stolen
(Starfield).

While I was getting together the instruments for each track, I decided I
wanted to use elements from all the different themes... However, only 3
really made it in. And as you can see, they were from the Delaware, Howell's, and
McCullogh's versions of the theme tune. The zap in the beginning came
directly from Howell DXi but with new effects added. The bass line (made up of 2
parts) also came directly fromHowell DXi, but arranged like McCullogh's
bassline. The first and third parts of the melody were made in GForce's Minimonsta.
The second part of the melody also came from Howell DXi, but a different
version which I submitted twice, but never got in. The same goes for the end
explosion. So... uhh... I guess that's it. I had alot of fun making it, and I
hope you all enjoy listening to it!

As a huge fan of Dr. Who, particularly the music and sound design, and also
classic Nintendo sounds, I went looking for an NES-music styled version of
the Dr. Who theme. As I couldn't find one, I made one. :-)
