London will host the Olympic Games in 2012. As a tax payer I am expected to foot the bill for this two week commercial sporting event. Londoners will have to pay even more through additional charges levied on them through their council tax.

The cost to the public through taxation is presently estimated at £9.5 billion. Reliable reports from people close to the bidding and financing process have openly admitted that the real figure will be much higher than this, possibly as high as £20 billion.

Once again the British public have been misled by the treacherous Labour scum who run this country. At least lives aren't at risk like they are as a result of the lies they told to justify the Iraq war.

Maybe if Tony Blair had been indicted as a war criminal this mind blowing waste of public money could have been avoided. We would of been well and truly rid of this treacherous Labour government once and for all and Paris could have hosted the games with pleasure. Even the Channel Tunnel would have received a boost in use as British sporting fans would have hopped aboard to watch the games.

So who benefits from the London 2012 Olympic Games? It certainly isn't me as I don't even get a free ticket, despite having to pay the bill. The real winners here are the politicians, officials, hangers-on and the handful of athletes who will compete in London in 2012.

Look at the closing ceremony for Beijing 2008. Gordon Brown, Tessa Jowell, James Purnell, Boris Johnson, Seb Coe and according to the Daily Mail another 11 ministers and literally hundreds of associated officials and hangers-on. The BBC sent 437 staff, the Metropolitan Police sent 39 and Dorset Police sent 4 people. In total the number of politicians and officials attending Beijing 2008 was more than double the number of British athletes competing there.

The athletes are winners too. Most of these athletes have never had a proper job in their lives. They survive on public handouts, appearance fees, winnings and sponsorship. When they come home from Beijing many will receive honours as were bestowed on Steve Redgrave, Mathew Pinsent, Kelly Holmes and hundreds more. The likes of Redgrave, Pinsent and Holmes will be offered lucrative sponsorship deals, advertising deals, product endorcement deals and jobs presenting television and radio programs.

Through billions of pounds of taxation a handful of politicians and athletes will benefit personally, some to the tune of millions of pounds.

And as a tax payer I can't even get a free ticket.

Dangling a carrot in front of me then pulling it away when I'm about to take a bite is never going to impress me. When you're stuck at 3am and nobody else wants to know you can bet your back teeth I'll remember your carrot dangling trick well before I remember why you was waving it in front of me.

I've been in the motor trade a long time and I'm used to people dangling carrots. These days though I'm more than wise to the various ways of tying one to a piece of string and dangling it in front of my face.

Offering me work only to take it elsewhere isn't funny. Doing it more than once is even less funny. Getting reminded of it when you're stranded and I'm your last hope isn't funny although I'm going to quite enjoy putting the phone down on you.

On the same note, complaining to me that I haven't turned up to do the little, insignificant job that I told you I'd do when I had time when I know very well that you take your servicing and repair work elsewhere isn't going to make me turn up any faster.

Play fair and so will I.

I provide my customers with a complete 24 hour, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year emergency aftercare service. I do this because it's the right thing to do. If a vehicle that I exclusively maintain* has a problem then I'll either make myself available to look at it here or I'll turn out to it if you can't get it here whatever time of the day or night it is. This aftercare service extends to providing advice and guidance when you need it or arranging a recovery after you've had a car accident.

What I don't provide is an aftercare service for other garages, that's their job.

If you choose to take your vehicle elsewhere for the servicing and maintenance work then don't expect me to lift a finger if it goes wrong and your garage is shut. I'm not going to give you any advice, I'm not going to look at it for you and I'm not going to lend you anything so you can try and fix it yourself. Quite frankly I think it's quite a cheek to ask.

If your normal garage or maintainer is happy to take your cash for servicing and repairs then they should be happy to use some of that money to provide an aftercare service. I have to and so should they.

* Exclusively maintain- that I carry out all servicing and maintenance work on the vehicle, not just occasional jobs when your normal garage is too busy to help you.

Trying out my new Nokia N95 Smartphone
Originally uploaded by Jonathan FrySun 06/07/2008 18:01 06072008083

I've upgraded to a new Nokia N95 Smartphone and picked up a micro SD card for it last night so I can take unlimited photos, more or less.

Here's one of Debbie I took earlier.
