Now that my body's internal sense of time is all messed up due to daylight saving time, I can honestly say I have no idea what time it is. At least my sense of the seasons is still working. The weather is getting warm, the birds are singing, the weeds in my lawn are starting to turn green, oh yes I know exactly what this means. It means Baseball season is just around the corner. The Grapefruit and Cactus leagues are training right now, getting ready for that all important opening day that's less than a month away. I've already installed the new MLB AtBat iPhone app, I have my new Cubs baseball cap on order and it should arrive soon, and I've double check that I'm signed up for DirecTV's MLB Extra Innings. Oh I so am ready for Baseball.

I'm happy to announce the Blog Oklahoma Podcast has won for best podcast in the 2009 Okie Blog Awards. Thank you very much for this honor. The podcast was up against some stiff competition, but in the end I'm guessing my forty listeners rallied to put the podcast over the top. Now this has gotten me thinking, there has to be more than 10 active podcasts here in the state. So over the next few weeks I'm going to explore the Oklahoma pod-o-sphere, and whatever I find I'll let you know know about it. Again thank you to everyone for voting for the Blog Oklahoma Podcast.

As I record this podcast it's 32 degrees outside. How many of you are so ready for spring? There are many things you can do to get ready for spring, one of which is to start planning your garden. Here at the home office we've gotten a start our vegetable garden by planting some seeds in a starter tray. In fact that tray is about six feet away from me right now. We put it here in the office so we can keep an eye on it better, to make sure it gets plenty of water, and to make sure the cat stays out of it. In a few short weeks we'll see them sprout, and in a few weeks more after that we will be able to transfer them outside. Growing your own vegetables is a very worthwhile thing to do. And not to mention home grown tomatoes are the absolute best. Not only will it save you a little grocery money around harvest time; you'll get plenty of exercise working in your garden.

Did ya ever have one of those days that started off great but then just fell apart? I was hoping to get an early start with the podcast today, but that just didn't work out. My home router has started to act up, and I've spent most the day trying to get it reconfigured so I can be online. I'm afraid it's time to buy a new one, but that's just going to have to wait for another time because I'm on a deadline today. It's Super Bowl Sunday, and I'm planning to spend the evening eating hot wings and watching some football. So what to do? I think it's about time for another Music Spectacular. Where we look back to some of the best music played here on the Blog Oklahoma Podcast over the last few episodes. So sit back and enjoy. And I'll be back next time with an all new episode, as soon as I get this stupid router fixed.

I hope everyone is safe and warm on this most monochromatic of weekends. I'm sure most of you have looked out a window this morning and saw nothing but white. Here in the west OK we had some defrosting on Saturday, but that's been stopped dead in its tracks. Now everything is frozen again. Hard. I know this for certain because when I took our dog Widget out for a walk this morning, and I promptly slipped on the curb and fell on my ass. Now pride aside I'm fine, but at least I gave Widget a good laugh.

Just get back into the swing of things and what happens? Tax season. The entire family is impatiently waiting for all our W-forms and other tax information to come in so we can file our taxes. This year it's doubly important we get ahead of things, because we get to fill out, for the first time, financial aid forms necessary for our son's high educational needs coming this fall. And I have come to the conclusion that former military bureaucrats are running financial aid offices. It's all hurry up and wait. They all want you to file early, but you can't file early until you get all your tax information in. And many organizations are in no hurry to send it to you. It's enough to make you pull your hair out. Luckily I've taken the philosophy of it'll get done when itâs done. You can't do anything about it until you get everything in. So thereâs no point worrying about it. Now if I could just convince my wife and son of this, I think we'll have a more relaxed household. So how's your week been?

What did I learn from this year's project? The iPhone camera shouldn't be used for a project like this. The iPhone is good for quick candid pictures, but for quality photography not so much. Even though my Kodak digital camera is now a few generations old, it took way better pictures.

Tis' the weekend before Christmas and all through the house everyone is doing their own thing, giving me time to click this mouse. Mixing some music I've come across in the course of the year, all in the hopes of giving you some holiday cheer. Some of the music is traditional and others quite not. But I hope you enjoy this music that I have brought.

Our poor little dog Widget threw another fit this morning. Why? Dogs don't know about daylight savings time. They don't realize you've changed the schedule. So this morning and every morning since November 1st around 5 AM Widget has to go outside, now! So it's either wake up, drag myself out of bed, and let the dog out, and attempt to start the day; or let Widget throw a fit for just one more hour. It's a no win situation either way. Yawn!

The 31th of October is very special to me. Not only is it home to one of the cooler holidays, it's also the day I
became wedded to my lovely Donna. Thank you for 5 wonderful years.

Did you know your fifth wedding anniversary is the wood anniversary?. I'm not sure what I'm suppose to get Donna. Considering the season, I'm thinking of a wooden stake. So she'll have something to protect her from all those Twilight fans. Ooo Creepy!

I was driving home from the office yesterday, and what did I see? Christmas decorations. That's right. Christmas decorations. The City of Elk City has already decorated the street lights down Main street with Christmas decorations. The holiday isn't for another two months and It's already Yule time downtown. What happened to Halloween? What happened to celebrating autumn? I haven't even picked up candy for next Saturday night yet, and now you're telling me is time to go shopping for Christmas?

It's been cold and dreary out there this week. Autumn has definitely fallen on us. Hopefully everyone got there container plants inside or at least in a protected area. I know we did. I was hoping to get in one last lawn mowing for the season, but that's looking like it's going to have to wait, if it happens at all. I guess I'll just have to suffer a winter with a shaggy brown lawn. Welcome to Autumn.

Due to problems over the weekend. I'm actually recording this on a Tuesday. This might be the fastest podcast I put together. Getting a late start on the podcast today. This weekend just happen to fall on the time I do some end of the month processing for the ol' day job.
And that purty much eats up most of the day. I almost just called this one, but I thought I'm sure I can get a podcast out, and if you're listening to this, hey, I did.

I don't know what about the last quarter of the year seems to just fill up with things that need to be done. I think I have more schedule conflicts this fall than I did all summer long, and I thought the summer was busy.
