I know most of you folks are spread far and wide across the globe and the intarwebs, but for those of you in Texas, specifically the Dallas-Fort Worth area, you need to come on down to the biggest tech conference on WordPress in the greater North Texas Region - WordCamp Dallas. I've been testing a few RSS widgets. The vast majority of which are completely broken. I eventually landed on SpringWidgets, which is a division of Fox and associated with MySpace (I think!). This widget seemed very customizable and worked like a charm. SpringWidgets also has a bunch of other widgets that seem pretty cool and actually work. Get this widget! Google already released the AJAX translation app to be added to web publisher’s sites across the Web, but it just wouldn’t be a Google feature if there weren’t plans to expand on the initial concept. According to a Computerworld report, Google plans on enabling electronic language translation to be applied to several other [...] SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "Hosted Google Apps to Get Translations and Video Tools", url: "http://mashable.com/2008/03/26/google-apps-hosted-translations-video/" });

Last month when comScore reported that the number of clicks on the text ads that make up the bulk of Google’s revenues did not grow, shares fell roughly 7 percent. Tonight, shares are off 3 percent on February’s version of the same report (obtained by Reuters) which shows paid clicks grew only 3.1 percent [...] SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "A Cough Becomes a Cold at Google; Paid Clicks Flat Again", url: "http://mashable.com/2008/03/26/google-paid-click-data/" });

At the end of April I will be joining the Guardian in London to build a new developer program there. This is a fantastic opportunity in many ways. Perhaps what’s most appealing to me is the direction the Guardian is going — they are totally focused on building a great online business, and it all [...]

CraveOnline’s male-oriented destination site is looking to expand its content features and take advantage of the current March Madness madness by acquiring HoopsVibe and StreetBallTalk. These two sites are both focused on basketball (obviously), and will further CraveOnline’s plan to bulk up its online property portfolio. CraveOnline’s parent company, AtomicOnline, is actually the [...] SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "CraveOnline Wants More Basketball: Acquires Two Niche Sites", url: "http://mashable.com/2008/03/26/craveonlin-acquisitions/" });

According to Reuters, CNET has laid off 120 people, representing around 10% of its staff. While CNET has grown revenue at a steady pace (from $354M in ’05 to $405M in ’07), shares have languished, and internal issues have emerged as investors look for better returns: “The moves come after hedge fund Jana Partners LLC [...] SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "Report: CNET Cuts 10 Percent of Staff", url: "http://mashable.com/2008/03/26/cnet-layoffs/" });

At this point, you probably fall into one of two camps regarding FriendFeed: hanging on every tweak the lifestreaming tour de force of the moment makes to its service, or praying that we’ll stop talking about it already. Just in the last 24 hours we’ve had four different stories regarding the service, including [...] SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "The Daily Poll: Is FriendFeed the Savior of Humanity?", url: "http://mashable.com/2008/03/26/friendfeed-poll/" });

You know those files you create in MS Word and Apple iWork’s Pages application and Open Office and various other word processing software titles? They want freedom. They don’t want to live proprietary, restricted lives. They want to live completely uninhibited. So much so that the proponents of the ever-increasingly popular ODF, or Open Document Format, [...] SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "Bid Adieu To Format Chaos. I have been an avid Diigo user for some time now. I use it to manage my bookmarks, to take notes, and organize and share my research. It's even become my primary blogging tool. Each time I think that I've finally mastered Diigo, they add some new feature or enhancement. Now, with the newly released Diigo V3, Diigo comes bounding into the social networking world. While it seems like everyone is getting into social networking these days, most are building communities around who knows who. Diigo, leveraging its success as a knowledge sharing tool, is building communities around who knows what.

It seems that Apple is finally seeing some formidable competition in the form of Amazon’s MP3 download store.
