MILK, the movie. Director Gus Van Sant and actors Sean Penn, Josh Brolin and Emile Hirsch talk with Marilyn Pittman about their new film, "Milk," about slain gay rights pioneer Harvey Milk. It's the 30th anniversary of Milk's assassination and the film couldn't come at a more auspicious time, just California's passage of Proposition 8 further delays marriage equality for LGBT people. You'll also hear interviews with Cleve Jones, Anne Kronenberg and Danny Nicoletta, three of the activists there with Harvey as he became the first openly gay man elected to public office in 1978.

Post-election Wrap: After Prop 8. What did the Nov. 4 election results mean for LGBT Americans? How is California's LGBT community fighting the passage of anti-gay marriage Proposition 8? And how might Barack Obama's presidency affect queers here and across the country? Hear State Senator-Elect Mark Leno, San Francisco Chief Deputy City Attorney Therese Stewart (who argued the same-sex marriage case before California's Supreme Court and filed the brief against Prop 8) and Andrea Shorter of And Marriage for All, an LGBT African American marriage equality group, in a lively discussion with Out in the Bay listeners and host Eric Jansen.

Love Politics: Personalizing Proposition 8 (Part 2 of 2).
Hear how Phyllis Lyon & the late Del Martin helped found the "secret lesbian society," the Daughters of Bilitis in 1955 and launched a national lesbian magazine in 1956; how they fought police violence in the 1960s; and about the 1965 New Year's Drag Ball busted by San Francisco cops that helped the ACLU take gay rights seriously. They also tell about their February 2004 marriage in city hall. We finish with music and inspirational words (from National Center for Lesbian Rights leader Kate Kendell) from the City Hall celebration of Del's life that show how much society's attitudes have changed. (Part 2 of 2) Eric Jansen hosts.

Gay men's physical and social health: Meet the folks at Magnet, a non-profit health and community center in San Francisco's Castro district, where you can dance, view art, get a massage, join discussion groups, participate in open mic nights...and get checked for HIV and other STDs. It's a joint community and health center model that other cities are looking at. Magnet also has a wealth of men's health information on its website, www.MagnetSF.org. Eric Jansen hosts.
