Marty talks with ERIC FAIR about his service in Iraq and his perspective on torture. Fair served as an arabic linguist in the U.S, army from 1995 to 2000. From Dec 2003 to May 2004 he was a contract interrogator at Abu Ghraib, Fallujah and Baghdad. He has written about his experiences for the Washington Post, the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Allentown Morning Call. He is now a first year student at the Princeton Theological Seminary.

The film tells the story of their travels and research around the globe do document endangered languages. In 2005 Hispanics accounted for 14 percent of the U.S. population, that???s expected to increase to 29 percent by 2050. We???ll talk with JEFFREY PASSEL co-author of the new report, then we???ll look at the role Hispanic voters are playing in this year???s Presidential election. Our two guests are LUIS CLEMENS editor of Candidato USA, an internet publication that helps clients reach Hispanic voters and MARISA ABRAJANO co-author of a forthcoming research article The Hispanic Voter in the 2004 Presidential Election.

MANIL SURI talks about his second novel, ???The Age of Shiva.??? It tells the story of Meera, a woman living in Bombay in the 1960s, her troubled marriage, and her relationship with her son. Suri's first novel ???The Death of Vishnu??? was a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award. He is a Mathematics Professor at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

The evolution of automotive repairs. Car mechanics has become an outdated term, as cars become more high tech and computerized. All of this requires more training, and that's put the industry facing a shortage of qualified automotive technicians, as they are now called.
